The Minnesota chapter plays an active role on the state level as well as the national level and is proud of it's numerous awards The Minnesota Association of Occupational Health Nurses (MAOHN) began organizing in March of 1967 with 32 charter members. Today it has grown to 160+ members located in all corners of the state. The association provides an opportunity for it's members to share successes, network, and provide continuing education credits through monthly meetings. With diverse positions in occupational health, members have an opportunity to keep current in their profession by sharing information regarding work injury prevention, OSHA, regulations, health surveillance, case management and current topics of interest. MAOHN has been an active partner with the members of the occupational medicine, safety and industrial hygiene fields, as well as the Midwest Center for Occupational Health and Safety and the Minnesota Safety Council in developing the "Team Approach." This concept recognizes the value of working together to promote the health and safety of the workers in Minnesota. |
